Dreams – To Remember & To Write
2009/07/11 Leave a comment
A night without a dream, never really exists, as each night once in REM sleep dreams do occur in fact even before they occur in the process NREM which is the first moments of falling asleep, to REM when you are in a deeper sleep and are more relaxed. Even with this aspect of the story, still it is sometimes difficult to remember the dreams, my objective in this article is to help you start that journey of remembering your dreams as there is much power within the subconscious verse.
Next you must be wondering, well it’s great there is much possibilities in the subconscious mind but how do I tune in? How does a person, a dreamer experience each dream and remember as the day begins to write it down? Well it starts with you and the person in the mirror first reaching a consensus, of a true interest in remembering the dream to have a chance to explore it and analyze it to gain further understanding of who you are through it. To solve some of the most difficult problems that are nearly unsolvable except when there is little or no limitation and no distractions, even in a society with Sensory Overload it is important to be able to have a chance to put Focus Forward and dreams are one example of making the choice to understand more about yourself. When the subconscious mind, can give the issue it’s full attention is when amazing things can come about because within the subconscious verse there are endless possibilities. In comparison to the conscious mind, being as it is constricted by logic and distractions of the world all around us. The job, family, friends all the many things that vy for your attention and take away from the initial focus needed to come to a solution of some of the most difficult problems particularly in the fast paced world that we live in. Generally expected through the daily grind of the standard workweek however you define it but does not make the best focal point when trying to deal with life’s challenges.
With all this distraction, this sensory overload how can we as people, dreamers still remember to write the dreams down first thing in the morning? As the objective of this post is to speak on solutions not just talk of the problems should begin.
The Easiest Way to Remember Dreams is a simple process;
- When you make the decision to begin to log your dreams, begin by reminding yourself the night before that you will remember your dreams say it three times, even if it may seem silly by doing that you begin the process that can be solidified in 21 Days ~ A New Habit, of reminding yourself until it becomes second nature.
- Once you have established the habit and it becomes second nature to just remind yourself of writing them down it is still good from the get go to put other reminders, such as a notebook by the bed or the old standby a string around your finger or whatever works for you as a good reminder.
- You have your notebook, you established the beginnings of a new habit, now try to take it a step further, write a sentence down a paragraph or a summary of the things you remember in your dream, don’t worry about making sense just concern yourself with remembering all you can. As dreams are not always logical or fit nicely into a neat package. Instead dreams are an array of images, clues and ideas that through further analysis help you garner understanding more of yourself, or of the solution you are seeking.
- Now all you are doing is writing down a summary of the dream, and continuing the establishment of the habit of the reminder to yourself to recall the dreams of the night before. You have your tablet ready on the table by your bed and as you lay down you try and quiet your mind to close your eyes and sleep, you are right on track to beginning to remember your dreams and in that coming closer to the excitement of further analysis.
- These first four are a good start, step five is for another day, so stay tuned and let me know how it has worked for you so far via the comments down below or through Dreamsessions @ Friendfeed
Understand that each piece that a dream presents has an eventual picture that will come of it, through small excerpts you working towards first getting the pieces in one place and then putting it together, similar to a jigsaw puzzle as you sort the pieces you begin the journey. Reminding yourself to remember your dreams, having the tablete next to your bed and when waking first thing in the morning write out all you remember in whatever way works for you, don’t worry about making a story out of it instead just focus on the details, as within the details there is much more to explore. Well that is it for now, I look forward to hearing from you on Friendfeed or in the Comments down below.
